Facing the challenge of balancing her Peruvian heritage with American culture, she found warmth within a small group of second-gen friends who shared a similar journey. Through their bonds, they introduced each other to new languages, cultures, and traditions, furthering her understanding of global awareness.
Growing up her love for storytelling and imagination evolved from a hobby into a source of solace. She had always enjoyed blending art and technology, from cutting up her mom's home decor magazines and creating mood boards to disassembling different gadgets.
These passions led her to Chapman University’s film program and even a semester abroad in Scotland. While focusing on her Screenwriting degree, Francesca assisted in Art Direction and web design as a way to pass time. Yet in working on many projects, where she continually designed graphics and crafted mood decks, she found her love for design once again. From there, Francesca pursued Art Department and began work on over 50 student productions in a variety of design roles, but mostly as a Production and Set Designer.
Graduating with a B.A. in Screenwriting and Theatre Studies, Francesca began her career as a non-union Production Designer and later joined I.A.T.S.E. 871. As an Art Coordinator, she spent nearly a decade working on commercials for notable brands along with several big-name movie studios as a Set Dec Coordinator. However, the demanding nature of the industry took a toll on her mental health, and she was diagnosed with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, prompting her to prioritize self-care.
During her time off Francesca, dove deeper into graphic design and web design. She took years of her knowledge and expanded it into a level of expertise, her artistry and adoration of creativity guiding her through a difficult time. This journey of self-discovery, healing, and gaining control over her disability led her to establish Quilla Design Studio. Quilla became not just a business venture but a manifestation of her personal growth and a tool for advocating mental health awareness by helping and guiding others to overcome, persevere, and accomplish their biggest dreams, no matter the challenges.
David was born to a third-generation Mexican mother and a Texan father.

Growing up in the beautiful hill country of Austin, David developed a deep passion for film, music, and various cultures. His fondest childhood memories include catching Tokusatsu films at local theaters, attending concerts, and meeting people from multiple heritages. His grandfather was a sci-fi author and anthropologist, and his grandmother was an archaeologist who spent many years traveling alongside her husband throughout many African countries. The experiences of his grandparents, combined with the multitude of artistic outlets, garnered David's fascination with the arts and the world around him.
At eight years old, David first held a camera, but his passion for cinematography emerged in 2007 when he explored the technical aspects of film and attended photography and filmmaking camps. He also learned the saxophone, guitar, and bass, forming bands with musicians from his middle and high schools who would perform around town.
In high school, David's student life photography won awards, leading to his role as head photographer for the El Paisano yearbook at Westlake High School. His passion for cinematic work, driven by his desire to capture emotion in everyday events, resulted in numerous youth awards. Concurrently, he took several film classes, making shorts and doing documentary/news-like work for the school district.
Setting his sights on Los Angeles, David seamlessly transitioned into the film industry, working for over eight years professionally with significant brand clients in the commercial world. His non-union experiences as a BTS photographer and 1st/2nd Assistant Cameraman fulfill his effort in bringing stories to life.
Despite loving his work, David felt a need for something more. Prompted by the pandemic's impact and realizing a shared loss of passion, he and his then-fiancee, Francesca, conceived the idea of Quilla. They viewed it as an opportunity to regain control over their creativity and share their rediscovered passion with the world. Their aim was to spotlight the significance of design, art, and deco in individuals and businesses, all the while reigniting their own love for the craft.
Moo's story began at just 8 weeks old when she was rescued from a Dachshund rescue in Burbank, CA
